Upper West Side

My sister and I love living on the Upper West Side. There’s lots of good restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques nearby. We get out and about in the area a lot and have fun exploring. The area contains several small and mid-sized office buildings and urban residences, as well as very little retail.

Tanglewood

The Trinity River cuts through downtown Fort Worth and runs for about 20 miles to the northeast. It used to be a part of the Brazos River, which is the longest river in Texas. It has been a tributary of the Brazos since shortly after the United States government purchased this land.

The western half of the addition, along the branch of the river, was part of the 1854 Felix G. Beasley survey, and the eastern half is the 1876 James Howard survey. The original approach to Tanglewood was a two-rut dirt road which is now Bellaire Drive South.

There was a small river that used to run in the area of the bridge in the early days. It used to be popular to go swimming and people still visit this place to swim in the river. Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District Ceri Breeze / Shutterstock. The Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District isn’t just an old relic. It has a lasting legacy on the city and even much of Texas and the Old West for its productivity and prolificness in the cattle industry, which earned the city’s nickname, Cowtown.

This was one of the busiest times for the shipping of cattle through Fort Worth. There were so many cattle being shipped that it made the city a very busy place.

The Stockyards in Fort Worth are an iconic American landmark. They’re on the National Register of Historic Places and one of the most famous tourist attractions in Texas.
